CloudCore Diagonal Mattress for Truck

I got this Havnby inflatable truck bed foam mattress for short bed trucks after loving a similarly styled Acacia mattress, but needing something that would work for solo runs in the Gladiator. This mattress is very, very good. The mattress fits diagonally in a a short bed, that was the main requirement. Icing on the cake is that it's made in a similar fashion to my all time favorite camping mattress by Acacia. It's a foam core with an inflatable shell that allows you to firm it up to your preference. Add an automatic inflator and you're set up for sleep in just a couple of minutes. This kind of mattress is basically the heaviest class, so they aren't suited to backpacking, but this mattress is purpose built for truck bed camping. It's amazingly functional at allowing you to sleep in the bed (preferably under a shell), basically anywhere at a moment's notice. Make no mistake, foam filled inflatables like this are the highest end camping mattresses, but when they're made this well they are worth it. Absolute comfort. Total control. Fits in the bed so you don't have to sleep on the ground. 100%. 5 stars. All of it.

I've been using this truck bed mattress in a Toyota Tundra, it's solved my solo camping setup. The diagonal design is clever. It gives me 79 inches to stretch out in my short bed truck with the tailgate closed, plus I still have space for my cooler and gear. The 4-inch foam is way better than those annoying air mattresses that always deflate or feel like a waterbed. The foam layer helps with insulation. Setup takes maybe 30 seconds with the built-in pump, and when I'm done, it compresses down small enough to tuck behind my seat. The battery pack pulls out separately for charging, which is nice because I don't have to haul the whole thing inside. I don't know how long the pump/battery will last. It's definitely too bulky for backpacking, but for truck camping or road trips, it's exactly what I needed.

The mattress inflates and deflates fairly quickly. It is super plush and comfortable. The instructions are worthless other than explaining the obvious. Being there is no manual valve for the built-in pump, I wonder how long until it leaks. There doesn't seem to be any provision to service it. It does have a manual port that is unassociated with the pump. Worst case, put duct tape over the pump port and manually inflate. The battery pulls out so you don't have to lug the entire mattress to charge it. If you double-tap the light button it toggles an emergency light on the back of the battery pack. Definitely too heavy for backpacking. Probably too bulky for canoeing. Perfect for it's designed purpose in a truck bed. Price is okay for what it is. Personally, I would purchase an MSR mattress without the built-in inflator in this price range, it is much more compact and light enough for backpacking.
