Model Y rear seats fold with a slope. FlatCore is shaped to take that slope out of the night, so you’re not sliding toward the hatch or building a platform in the dark. Just a level place to sleep, already fitted to the car.

This mattress is amazing!

Worried this was overkill, but nah, this was worth it

Perfect and worth the price. I was worried this mattress would be overkill, but after sleeping on it for a week, it exceeded my high expectations. Some highlights:
- Very comfy, did not feel like a typical air mattress
- Did not notice the "gap" at the top. mattress did not sag and was well supported. Other Tesla campers I was with noted that their mattresses all had a sag issue at the head. Some folks noted they had to sleep diagonally... no issue with this mattress.
- Inflation, deflation, and refolding was a breeze. I didn't time it but I'd guess 3-5 minutes for fully setting up, or packing up. Typically rolling up a sleeping bag is a big pain, but this was effortless.

Things to note:
- Could still access the trunk side storage. Could not reach behind the driver's seat. Had to move seats forward to really maximize the space. If you're by yourself, use the space next to you to store stuff like a jacket in case you need to get up in middle of night. You can also store stuff in the passenger seat but it's a bit more challenging to reach. It's very roomy if you're just one person. If you're two, it'll be tight.

Perfect fit!

I so love how it counteracts the slope! And how it inflates to extend/create head support (I’m 6’2 and need the additional length)! Then you can deflate it partially to shrink it some to let front seats back without having to fully put it away!

Great buy

Exceeded my expectations lasted all night every night of camping. Very firm what I’m not used to with other mattresses for a car. On the price your side, but you get what you pay for.

Nice effort, but not for me.

Pretty good. The rear mounted pump mechanism makes it tough to get into the car through the hatch, and the thickness of the mattress at the back makes it harder for shorter people to get in without a stool of some sort. Once in, the very slippery cover makes it tough to scootch around, and the extra 3” of thickness makes, for me anyway, a huge difference in the available headroom.
